There is a partnership that needs to happen between a horse and his rider when both are new to each other.  Through that bonding process there forms a trust that will carry them successfully through competition, hence the Training Level of competition in the dressage arena.  This is what the process of forming that bond looks like, a little bit of nerves, some stiffness, but the beginnings of a subtle connection.
