Sweet William ©, the Shire, munching on his hay

There is somethings so ordinary about the sound of a horse munching on his hay, at least ordinary for those of us fortunate enough to have experienced that sound as a core memory. To view such a massive horse engaged in such a mundane activity brings a sort of normalcy and everydayness to what we would normally attribute to this massive beast-WORK, STRENGTH, POWER.  It makes one feel peaceful and calm at its viewing.
